Dr Nur Azyani bt Amri is a clinical audiologist in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh with 23 years experience and is currently the Head of the Audiology Profession in Ministry of Health Malaysia. She completed her PhD in Speech and Hearing in University Kebangsaan Malaysia (2022), obtained her Master in Clinical Audiology in University of Melbourne (2010) and graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with Bachelor in Audiology (Hons) (2002). Her PhD research was on paediatric amplification with the focus on the evidence-based practice using probe microphone measurement to optimise the hearing aid fittings in children. Dr Nur Azyani Amri is the core committee member for the Ministry of Health Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Committee, the Ministry of Health National Implant Cochlea Committee and the appointed member for the Advisory Board of the Allied Health Sciences, National University of Malaysia. She is also the core committee for the Technical Working Group for Sensory Health and the member of the boards of assessor for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for Audiology programme. Dr Nur Azyani aims to elevate the audiology services in Ministry of Health by strengthening the universal newborn hearing screening programmes throughout Malaysia, to improve the quality of the diagnostic hearing services and ensuring the equitable, high-quality and patient-centred audiology services is accessible to the community.
