Dr Sumit Mrig is a dedicated ENT Surgeon with special training in the field of cochlear implantation . After his Medical school training from UCMS & GTB hospital (Delhi University & He did his ENT training from prestigious MAULANA AZAD MEDICAL COLLEGE & Ass LOK NAYAK HOSPITAL .He is currently the Director & Head of Ent & cochlear implant programme at Max Smart Hospital saket & Max Hospital Dwarka . He is also the Director of Sankalp Ent & cochlear implant centre Located in Dwarka - a state of art centre for Ent, Audiology , speech & Avt therapy for cochlear implant children . He has performed more than 700 successful cochlear surgeries including patients from various countries across the globe .In terms of academic excellence he is a mentor surgeon to many centres across India to start CI prog , also been a mentor Sg to ADIP centres through govt of India under ministry of social empowerment & justice . He has been an invited faculty at most of Ci conference held nationally & internationally .He has been instrumental in framing guidelines for cochlear implant surgery for prestigious AOI( Association of otolaryngologist of India) & CIGI (Cochlear implant group of India ) . He has also written various chapters on vertigo in books published internationally . He is also the current treasurer of cochlear implant group of India. He is the reviewer of International ENT journals & has numerous international publications to his name. He has also written temporal bone dissection manual for training of ENT surgeons .He also has keen interest in sleep apnea / sialendoscopy/ Ant & lateral skull base surgery .He has been awarded with “VALYOU AWARD” At URJA 2017 by Max Healthcare Institute Limited , “MAX CEO’s “ award of the year 2018 in recognition of exemplary display of core values at MAX HEALTHCARE & “SUSRUTA” award for clinician excellence In ENT at Max healthcare annual award ceremony in oct 2019 & ‘VISHISHT CHIKITSA AWARD” by IMA Dwarka in 2025.He is also the managing & founder trustee of Sankalp Trust foundation which works for awareness of treatment of deafness & help needy children for their cochlear implant surgery . He is currently an executive committee member & National treasurer for CIGI .
